Some highlights:

Masks will be worn indoors for those who are not fully vaccinated.

We will transition to specials & other areas in the building, students will be cohorted when they cannot maintain 6’ of social distance.

Volunteers will be allowed to support the building, see the protocols for procedures.

Breakfast & Lunch

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act and based on the exceptional circumstances of this public health emergency, the USDA has established a waiver to allow schools to provide universal free meals to children 18 and younger during the 21-22 school year. Due to the circumstances of this public health emergency, Champaign Unit 4 Food Service will be offering a limited menu with ONLY one hot entree option daily at breakfast and lunch. All meals will be preplated and covered. If your child wishes to eat school meals and has food allergies please contact the Food Service Main Office directly at 217.351.3852 or [email protected] to get these meal accommodations setup. Students will be seated at cafeteria tables during breakfast and lunch and will have a seating chart should contact tracing be necessary.

New Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

New arrival and dismissal procedures (link)

Thank you for all the positive feedback and suggestions regarding these changes. Our primary goal was increasing safety. We made a few changes to address some of the potential challenges with the new system. One significant change is that we have added visitor parking spots in the west lot to make access easier to the main entrance (Door1). One concern that will remain is timing for dismissal. We are unable to change the length of the school day or dismissal times, we suggest arriving to the car rider line no earlier than 2:05-2:10, when students are ready to leave the building. Once routines are in place, dismissal usually lasts from 2:05-2:20. So, please be patient, we will all get faster!

Two very important reminders:

  1. Cell phone usage is not allowed in school zones.

  2. Do not park on the west side of Scottsdale in the no parking zones, or buses will not be able to turn.

Schedule for returning/exchanging devices is still being developed. Please have your student bring their Unit 4 device and charger with them to school.

Unfinished Learning

We realize there is much concern about learning that students may have missed in the last year. We want to assure you that we have a plan to assess students early and provide appropriate instruction. Please remember that the whole world is experiencing the same academic challenges.
