December 20-21 Schedule Information

December 20-21 Schedule Information
Posted on 12/10/2021

Dear Families,

We wanted to follow-up on communication sent last night from the District regarding the District vaccine clinic and student schedule for December 20-21.  Please take some time to review it carefully if you have not already done so since it contains important information. Information regarding elementary schools is added below:

In order to ensure adequate staffing for these all-day vaccine clinics, students in grades K-5 will NOT be expected to attend school in-person on December 20-21.  Instead, they will participate in at least five (5) hours of independent, asynchronous learning activities created by their teachers on a schedule that works for them and their families.  Each day, teachers will also host two (2) hours of virtual “office hours” for students who need assistance or want to check in.  Information about each teacher’s office hours will be shared via Google Classroom and other methods.  Student attendance will be based upon completion of the asynchronous activities.  The work must be completed no later than January 7, 2022 for a student to be considered “present” for these days.

We understand that asynchronous learning may cause hardship for some families.  For families who have no other options available during the regular school day, each of our elementary schools will have a supervised Distance Learning Center (DLC) where students can complete their asynchronous learning and engage in other, self-directed online activities.  Students may work independently in the DLC for all or part of their regular school day. The school day ends at 1:35 on 12/20 & 12/21 for early dismissal.  As was the case in November, transportation to the DLCs will NOT be provided.

In order to ensure adequate staffing at each building, families who want their students to attend the Distance Learning Center must inform their school no later than Tuesday, December 14 at 12:00 p.m.  Our Kids Plus Program will run as scheduled for those students who are currently enrolled in the program.

If you would like your student to attend Robeson’s DLC, please complete this form or call the Robeson office (217) 351-3884 no later than Tuesday, December 14 at 12:00 p.m. so we can ensure adequate staffing.

Please let us know if you have questions,

Jessica Pitcher, Principal
