Registration for Kindergarten, new, and returning students will begin February 3, 2025. What you need to know:
Incoming new students with siblings currently attending Unit 4 may complete their registration online
Student Registration Timeline:
Registration opens for all students on Monday, February 3, 2025. Kindergarten registration closes May 1, while New and Returning 1-12 closes May 30. Registration will not be available after May 30, as we will be transitioning to a new Student Information System, Synergy, during this time.
We are hosting three Kindergarten Information Nights for incoming Kindergarten families
January 30, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., Garden Hills Academy (This session includes a meet and greet with Principals)
February 6, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., South Side Elementary
February 11, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Carrie Busey Elementary
Tours will be offered at each of our elementary schools for incoming elementary families

The requirements for proof of residency have been updated to allow for more flexibility
CATEGORY I (One document required)
Most recent property tax bill or Form 1098 (homeowners) (proof of payment requirement removed)
Mortgage Papers (homeowners)
Signed and dated current lease (renters)
Letter of Residence to be used when the person seeking to enroll a student is living with a District Resident (7:60-AP2, E2)
CATEGORY II (Two documents showing proper address are required)
Driver’s license, State ID, or Consulate ID
Voter registration card
Most recent cable or internet bill
Most recent utility bill (gas, water, electric, sewer, or trash)
Current homeowners/renters insurance policy and premium payment receipt
Current vehicle registration (new)
Current IDHS public aid notification letter for SNAP or TANF benefits (new)
